MEET RAINNA

Meet mesmerising Rainna, ceramist and Great Pottery Throw Down contestant in 2020.

Rainna grew up in Bow, east London, but moved to Kent when she was 14. Her love affair with ceramics started out at school when she chose it as a GCSE option but then went on to study it at Canterbury Christ Church University.

At the age of 23, her parents purchased her first kiln as a graduation present. It was an old manual kiln that needed lots of TLC but despite the many highs and lows it became her trusted friend. Rainna uses her whole house as a studio, including the kitchen and conservatory, but she can mainly be found throwing in a converted garden shed.

In addition to her own projects she works closely with the Future Foundry and Ceramics Art Dover which both help the local community to engage in the Arts. She is also the Artist in Residence at the Ashford School and has launched her own business - because she always dreamed of being her own badass boss! 😎👏💪
